300 Block

Tomorrow begins a new year which usually invokes promises of new beginnings and new changes by people and business, alike.

It is a time that we designate to try to motivate ourselves to an alternative upgrade by altering our mindset to believe that we will enact and do the new resolutions we have dreamt up.

Change is easy, sometimes, and, sometimes, never realized.  For towns and cities, change is often held hostage for many years, for many reasons;  so much that “change” becomes static.

300 Block

Downtown on Main Street, between the new Subway and Goodwill,
down in the 300 Block, where the bars use to be,
there’s trees on the sidewalk, now, and Barzinger’s Grill,
downtown on Main Street, between the new Subway and Goodwill.
But for a long time, it was bad, as if time had stood still
and the denizens of the block were care free,
downtown on Main Street, between the new Subway and Goodwill,
down in the 300 Block, where the bars use to be.
